In 2010 Facebook decided to offer it’s users with a @facebook email address. The social network wanted to keep users as much time as possible in his ecosystem. Some called it a “Gmail killer”. Killer is a overrated word in tech industry and news.
It wasn’t. Failed. Big. Nobody used it.
For some time, Facebook tried to promote the feature. Tried hard and failed again.
They created an email address no one wanted. Now they assume the defeat and will shut down. In the improbable case of someone send you an email through the @facebook address, it will be forward to the original email address that they used to join Facebook in the first place.
Goodbye @facebook email address. Nobody will miss you.
