He worked at CERN and granted some time to work in this project. Some years later, in 1993, CERN declared that WWW technology would be available to all, without paying royalties, forever.

The internet now belongs to humanity.

Yesterday, Tim Berners-Lee posted on a Google blog a call to action, defending as Internet free and open, for all of us.
